About the Artist...
Joan GaleJoan’s work is a combination of her lifelong interest in both nature and art. She started sculpting as a child when her neighbor, Jean Salter, opened a greenhouse and pottery studio in her home. Jean invited Joan to learn and work with her and her family. Together they made horticultural pottery. Joan's interest in growing plants led her to pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree in ornamental horticulture. Jean and Joan owned the Swamp Fox Pottery in Chadds Ford, PA, from 1983 to 1999. Joan is an instructor at Chester Springs Studio. She has been a juried member of the PA Guild of Craftsmen since 1994. Her work has been displayed in local galleries, Longwood Gardens, Brandywine River Museum and the Philadelphia Flower Show.
Currently, Joan is working from her home studio in southeastern Pennsylvania. Her work is available at fine arts and craft shows. See the show schedule for more information.
